NSW: Brogden delivers pep talk to coalition candidates

By Krystyna Pollard

SYDNEY, Dec 12 AAP - Exactly 100 days out from the NSW election, Opposition LeaderJohn Brogden today delivered a pep talk to coalition candidates at state parliament.

Outlining policy direction for the March 22 election under the banner of "a fresh approach",Mr Brogden also took the opportunity to announce the coalition's plan to introduce anannual premier's address in parliament to detail social outcomes of government policy.

"Each year we see in the budget figures on debt ratios, GSP, projections of unfundedliabilities and hundreds of pages of economic data," he told this morning's gathering.

"Yet there is not a day when we look at the human and social outcomes of our governmentpolicies and ... programs.

"We don't have a day like budget day when we look at the human and social issues ourcommunities face.

"Under a Liberal/National government I will present an annual address to the parliamenton these social issues, and this address will have the same standing as the budget speech.

"Parliament will have no other functions on that day other than to look at the socialand community issues we face."
