Fed: New mental health kit launched

Mental health providers and patients now have a new guide to negotiating privacy laws.

The Mental Health Privacy Coalition, made up of doctors, private hospitals, psychiatrists
and the Mental Health Council of Australia, has launched a privacy kit explaining the
details of the Federal Privacy Act.

Coalition chairman BILL PRING says the kit will help practitioners deal with highly
sensitive clinical information without fear of breaching the Act or betraying patient
trust.
