Heck has joined the company's Board of Directors. Heck, 55, is the managing partner and co-founder of PacifiCom, a 10 year old information industry consulting company based in Seattle.
From 1987 to 1989, Heck was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Telematic Products, a manufacturer of specialty computers for data services, which was owned by Executone Information Systems. He was brought in to turn the company around, and in 18 months he sextupled revenues and restored the company to profitability, enabling the parent to successfully sell it.
From 1983 to 1987, he founded and was Chief Executive Officer of PacTel Products Company and PacTel Communications, which were unregulated equipment subsidiaries of Pacific Telesis Corporation, one of the former Bell regional telephone companies, which is now part of SBC Corporation.
Heck was part of the transition team for the break-up of AT&T, where he held various positions from 1967 to 1982, including at Pacific Telephone.
